ABOUT THE SCHOOL
|
Holland House School offers a comprehensive timetable of lessons to include: English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, French, Computer Studies, Drama, Music, Art, Dance, PE and Games.
All academic subjects are taught in whole classes with the pupils facing the teacher. Children are accustomed to tests at regular intervals to ascertain that they have learned what they have been taught. Parents are welcome to discuss their child's progress with teachers or the Headmistress.
In the first two years at Holland House School, particular emphasis is placed on reading, writing, number work and clear self-expression. Children are taught to acknowledge classroom discipline without sacrificing their own lively individuality.
|
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) was implemented in September 2008 in Form 1K (Reception) in response to statutory regulations from the DCFS.
Art, Drama and Music enjoy a high profile in the school curriculum. Holland House School is fortunate in having highly qualified and skilled teachers in these areas of aesthetic development.
